Department
The Dean of Students Office helps Titans reach higher by serving as an advocate for students, connecting them to the appropriate university resources, and collaborating meaningfully with the campus community. We assist students in navigating the university and resolving educational, personal, and other concerns that impact the quality of their Titan experience. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Assistant Dean (Student Services Professional IV).

Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Dean program is a collaboration between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. There is one Assistant Dean assigned to each of the eight colleges at Cal State Fullerton:
The Arts, Business and Economics, Communications, Education, Engineering and Computer Science, Health and Human Development, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs serves as an integral part of student success by coordinating programs and promoting campus resources that support students, promote access and retention, enrich the academic environment, and enhance student development. The Division of Student Affairs provides training and support to the Assistant Deans. The Assistant Dean works in collaboration with the College Dean’s Office to deliver and integrate student services into the academic setting.
The Assistant Dean coordinates University and college-wide student services, serves as a liaison to faculty and staff in the college, designs and implements student service assessment plans including co-curricular programs, and contributes to a wide variety of initiatives that support the college, division, and university strategic plans. Reports to Student Affairs and executes duties in collaboration with the College Dean. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field plus upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution. Four years of professional student services work experience including experience advising students individually and in groups, as well as the analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
