The Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas.
- Developmental Writing
- Beginning College Writing
- Advanced College Writing
- Scientific and Technical Writing
- Creative Writing
- Introductory Literature courses
- Advanced Literature/Composition and Rhetoric courses
- Introductory Linguistics courses
- Advanced Linguistics courses
This pool is drawn on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.
Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
Required QualificationsCandidate for introductory courses must have at least a Master's degree in a field relevant to the curriculum of the Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics. A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience is required for teaching upper-division courses (300- or 400-level). Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and evidence of strong teaching effectiveness.
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
- Relevant work experience and professional capabilities that enhance the curriculum.
