Department: FC Fine Arts
Location: Fullerton College
Employment type: Part‑time (variable months)
Salary: $1,572.67 – $2,025.85 per lecture unit rate, $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1,258.16 – $1,380.60 per lab unit rate.
Course and ScheduleThe course “THON 143 Stagecraft” is held Mondays and Wednesdays 10:25 AM–1:35 PM in Spring/Fall semesters. 3 lecture and 3 lab units.
Special RequirementsAll degrees must be verified on a legible transcript. Grade cards will not be accepted. Evaluations of foreign degrees are required. No visa sponsorship is offered. Official transcripts and verification of experience must be submitted prior to the first duty day. Identification and employment eligibility must be verified. Fingerprinting and required medical certification are required.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional experience
- Associate degree and at least six years of professional experience
- Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area
- Equivalent qualifications as determined by the District Equivalency Committee
- Commitment to diversity: demonstrated sensitivity and understanding of diverse academic, cultural, socioeconomic, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability and ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to collaborate with and teach students from diverse backgrounds
- Expertise in both the theoretical and practical application of stagecraft principles
- Experience teaching technical theatre courses, especially introductory classes with innovative teaching practices supporting women, students of color and students with disabilities
- Knowledge of CTE program objectives and background in theatrical video and projections work at a theme park or entertainment venue
- LMS experience/training (Canvas)
- Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and/or community leaders in initiatives for historically underrepresented students
