The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at California State University, Fullerton is seeking experienced, student‑centered educators to join its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool in the subject areas of Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. Lecturers will be called upon as needed, often with very short notice, for the Fall, Spring, and occasionally Summer Session segments of the academic year.

• Teach coursework in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry at the university level.

• Prepare and deliver engaging, inclusive, and rigorous instruction for diverse learners, including first‑generation college students.

• Complete required teaching assignments on a semester‑by‑semester basis as scheduled by the department.

• Participate in performance evaluations in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and University policy.

• Advanced degree (Master’s, ABD, PhD, or EdD) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Prior university‑level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body.

• Research and teaching experience in chemistry or biochemistry.
• Experience fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
• Relevant professional experience and performance record.

Regular performance evaluations of part‑time lecturers are conducted by the department in accordance with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These evaluations determine future teaching assignments.

All appointments are for one semester only. The monthly salary range is $5,507 – $6,677, prorated based on units taught. For a three‑unit assignment, typical compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester. See the university’s benefits page for additional information.
