Child & Adolescent Studies – Part Time Lecturer Pool

The Department of Child and Adolescent Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool.

• Child development — Infancy to middle childhood
• Child development — Middle childhood through adolescence
• Professional communication in the CAS discipline
• Assessment in child and adolescent development
• Research methods in child and adolescent development
• Learning and motivation in early childhood
• Infant/toddler development
• Working with parents of young children
• Adolescent and the media
• Adolescent sexuality and intimate relationship
• Parenting in the 21st century
• General introduction to child development

• Teach courses in the subject areas listed above as assigned.
• Be available on short notice; appointments are often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Child Development, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field prior to appointment.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students.
• A strong background in child development theory and research.
• An interest in preparing undergraduates to work effectively with children, adolescents, and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work collegially in a multicultural environment.

• Significant teaching experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
• Relevant professional experience and performance record.

All part‑time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers under the CSU Collective Bargaining Agreement. Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Monthly salary range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month (anticipated hiring range not to exceed $6,221 per month). Compensation is prorated to units worked.
