Position: Part-Time Lecturer Pool
The Department of Asian American Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications to its part-time lecturer pool. Qualified candidates will be contacted as new teaching positions become available. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

- Ideas, Imagination and Intersections in Ethnic Studies/ Asian American Studies
- Community, Liberation and Action in Ethnic Studies/ Asian American Studies
- Vietnamese Communities in the US
- Multiple Heritage Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders
- South Asian American Experiences
- Korean American Experiences
- World War II Japanese American Evacuation
- Civic Engagement Through Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies
- Survey of American History with Emphasis on Ethnic Minorities
Responsibilities: Develop and teach assigned courses in any of the above areas. Prepare syllabi and course materials. Engage students in inclusive academic practices. Participate in regular performance evaluations as required by department policy.
Required Qualifications:
- ABD doctoral candidate or Master’s degree with substantial graduate coursework in Asian American Studies, ethnic studies, or related fields
- Expertise in fields relevant to the department’s curriculum
- Evidence of prior teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience
- Background in academic or professional experience relevant to the field
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, including first‑generation college students
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive learning environment

- Cover letter addressing required qualifications and stating which courses and modalities (online, hybrid, in‑person) you are prepared to teach
- Three letters of recommendation
- Inclusive excellence statement (no more than 500 words)

- Undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial copies accepted until appointment)

Appointment and Salary:
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers under the CSU/CFA agreement. Initial appointments are one semester. Classification range: $5,507–$6,677 per month. Estimated pay for three‑unit assignments ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.

Performance Evaluation: Regular evaluations are conducted by the department and are used to determine future assignment retention.
