The Department of Counseling at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions are available, typically for short‑notice appointments around the start of the academic term.
Subject Areas- Counselor Education / Professional Clinical Counseling
- Marriage and Family Therapy
- Other related disciplines in line with the department’s mission
Prepare and deliver lecture and/or practicum courses, develop syllabi, assess student learning, and participate in departmental meetings and professional development. Assignments are typically part‑time units and may require availability on very short notice.
Required Qualifications- A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Counselor Education or a related field (e.g., Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy).
- For clinical courses (e.g., Beginning and Advanced Practicum), a valid California clinical license (LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist).
- Prior teaching experience at the university level.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body, including first‑generation college students.
- Significant teaching experience with diverse populations and a history of fostering a collaborative, supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Relevant professional experience and demonstrated performance in counseling education.
- Cover letter indicating courses you are qualified to teach.
- Copy of your unofficial transcript for your highest terminal degree.
- Three professional references with contact information.
- Sample syllabi (if available).
- Inclusive Excellence Statement (≤500 words).

Appointment & SalaryAll appointments are as Lecturers under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Initial appointments are for one semester. Compensation is prorated per unit and paid in six monthly payments. Current classification range is $5,507–$6,677 per month, not to exceed $6,221 per month. A three‑unit assignment typically pays $6,608.40–$7,465.20 per semester.
Legal and Background RequirementsApplicants must meet the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act mandated reporter provisions and will be required to pass a satisfactory background check. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of periodic background screenings.
