English, Comparative Literature & Linguistics - Part-Time Lecturer Pool

The Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool.

Part‑time faculty will teach courses in the following subject areas:

• Developmental Writing
• Beginning College Writing
• Advanced College Writing
• Scientific and Technical Writing
• Creative Writing
• Introductory Literature courses
• Advanced Literature/Composition and Rhetoric courses
• Introductory Linguistics courses
• Advanced Linguistics courses

Appointments are temporary, often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

All appointments are for one semester only. Classification range: $5,507–$6,677 per month. Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month. For a three‑unit assignment, starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.

• Candidates for introductory courses must have at least a Master’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum of the Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics.
• A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience is required for teaching upper‑division courses (300‑ or 400‑level).
• Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students.

• Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
• Preference will also be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
• Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
