The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Experimental Physical Chemistry. The appointment will begin in Fall 2027.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physical chemistry, including lectures and laboratory instruction.
- Develop, sustain, and grow an active experimental physical chemistry research program that involves undergraduate and master’s students.
- Mentor students, advise on research projects, and contribute to the department and university community through service.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and activities.
- Engage in scholarship that yields peer‑reviewed publications and external funding.
- A Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field, with postdoctoral experience at the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated excellence and potential in teaching, using student‑centered, active learning, and inquiry‑based approaches.
- A record of research productivity in experimental physical chemistry or related areas.
- Ability to develop an independent, funded research program that involves undergraduates and master’s students.
- Effective communication and mentoring skills for a culturally diverse student body.

Compensation & Benefits- Salary range: $7,206 – $7,350 per month (annualized $86,472 – $88,200).
