The Department of Economics at CSU Fullerton is recruiting part‑time lecturers to join a temporary pool that will be called upon as needed to teach various economics courses. Qualified applicants will be considered for open positions in the Fall and Spring semesters, and on an as‑needed basis during Summer sessions. Appointments are temporary and often made shortly before the start of a term;
applicants must be available on short notice.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate economics courses assigned by the department.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, develop and grade assignments, and provide student feedback.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain course continuity and uphold educational standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings and performance reviews as required.
- Master’s degree in Economics from an accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent foreign degree.
- At least one semester of experience teaching economics at an accredited institution.
- Ability to interact effectively with a culturally diverse student body, including first‑generation college students.
- Doctoral degree in Economics or a related field.
- Experience fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Relevant professional work experience and demonstrated teaching or curriculum development skills.
Initial appointments are for one semester and are made as Lecturer under the CSU‑CFA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Salary ranges from $5,507 to $6,677 per month (ant. $6,221 per month, not to exceed) and is prorated based on units taught. Compensation is paid in six monthly installments. Performance EvaluationRegular performance evaluations are conducted each semester in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and University policy. Evaluations inform future teaching assignments and potential retention.

The holder of this position is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083. - Background Clearance:
Offer contingent upon satisfactory background check. Continued employment requires completion of background screening in accordance with CSU policy. - Out‑of‑State Employment Policy:
This position must be performed within California; the employer may not relocate the employee out of state. - Education Code 89521 Requirements:
Applicants must disclose any final administrative or judicial determination of sexual harassment within the last seven years after meeting minimum qualifications.
