Chicana and Chicano Studies - Part-Time Lecturer Pool

Position

Part‑time lecturer in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies. Teaching to be drawn from the pool as needed, with appointments typically one semester, at short notice.

• Teach introductory courses in Intro to Ethnic Studies, Communication Skills, and Introduction to Chicana and Chicano Studies (100‑ or 200‑level).
• Deliver lecture and discussion sessions, prepare instructional materials, and assess student learning.
• Maintain an inclusive, culturally responsive classroom and support first‑generation and diverse students.

• Master’s degree in a field relevant to the department curriculum for 100‑ or 200‑level courses.
• Doctoral degree or substantial professional experience for 300‑ or 400‑level courses.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student population.

• Prior college or university‑level teaching experience with strong evidence of teaching effectiveness.
• Experience collaborating with diverse student groups, fostering inclusive environment.
• Professional experience relevant to the field.

Lecturers under CSUF Collective Bargaining Agreement. Initial appointments one semester. Classification $5,507–$6,677 per month; anticipated hiring range up to $6,221 per month. Semesters are prorated to units taught and paid in six monthly payments.

• Must comply with mandated reporter requirements under CA Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
• Position contingent on satisfactory background check; ongoing employment requires periodic checks.
