Assistant Professor in Elementary Education/Literacy (Spanish‑English) Specialization – tenure‑track position to begin Fall 2027 in the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education at California State University, Fullerton.

• Develop and teach credential and graduate courses for TK‑8 teaching, focusing on reading, literacy, and language arts methods in bilingual contexts.
• Provide cohort leadership and field supervision in multicultural urban settings.
• Advise and mentor students; contribute to departmental life.
• Conduct scholarly research and publishing.
• Serve on committees and participate in community and professional service.

• Earned doctorate in education with an emphasis in language and literacy, reading, or related field by the time of appointment.
• Current or expired clear Multiple Subject/Elementary teaching credential with at least three years of teaching experience in diverse TK‑8 settings, or three years of equivalent experience.
• Evidence of biliteracy in Spanish‑English.
• Experience using asset‑based and developmentally appropriate literacy and dual‑language pedagogies.
• Experience with student‑centered technology integration.
• Experience facilitating learning in hybrid and online environments.
• Demonstrated advocacy for communities of color and historically underserved populations.
• Commitment to just, equitable, and inclusive education.

• Multiple Subject/Elementary teaching credential.
• Experience working with multilingual communities and promoting language equity.
• Teaching experience in Spanish through programs such as after school, newcomer, dual language, or dual immersion.
• Collaborative work with colleagues and community partners.

Salary range: $7,239 to $7,381 per month for the Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
