Position: Secondary Education - Part-Time Lecturer Teacher Candidate Supervisor/Clinical Pool

Position Overview

The Department of Secondary Education at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Teacher Candidate Supervisor/Clinical Coach Pool. This pool serves as a source of supervisors/clinical coaches for teacher candidates in the Single‑Subject Credential Program. Supervisors must observe teacher candidates at school sites in Orange County and potentially Riverside and Los Angeles Counties during school hours (8:00 AM–3:00 PM) and be available on short notice for temporary appointments just prior to the start of each academic term.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback to teacher candidates.
  • Create and deliver instructional materials for supervision sessions.
  • Collaborate with school partners to support candidate development.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and contractual meetings as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Required Qualifications
  • Current or expired single‑subject teaching credential in the relevant subject area with at least three years of experience, or three years of equivalent experience working with students ages 12‑20 in diverse settings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education and to working with students from historically marginalized groups.
  • Recent professional experience in school settings using California content standards and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation.
  • Ability to employ innovative instructional approaches and methods and to work effectively with technology.
  • Familiarity with Teacher Performance Expectations and ability to support candidate development regarding the TPEs and TPA’s.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least a master’s degree in education or related field.
  • Experience implementing anti‑racist teaching and social justice pedagogies.
  • Bilingual or biliterate skills or experience working with bilingual/biliterate students.
  • Active membership in subject‑matter or educational professional organizations.
Appointment & Salary

All part‑time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers under the CSU system Collective Bargaining Agreement, with initial appointments for one semester. The monthly salary range is $5,507–$6,677, depending on unit load and experience, prorated to the number of units worked and paid in six monthly payments per full semester.
