Information Systems And Decision Sciences - Part-Time Lecturer Pool

The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool.

We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the following subject areas:

• Information System (Management Information Systems / MIS)
• Statistics / Decision Sciences
• Business Analytics
• Data Analytics / Information Technology

Applicants are also encouraged to indicate interest in graduate-level teaching in the M.S. in Information Systems (MSIS) and the MBA concentrations in Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Decision Sciences.

This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.

Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Required qualifications include:

• Master's Degree in Management Information Systems, Operations Research, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Sciences or related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent
• Relevant experience in a related quantitative or computational field
• Demonstrated competency with the tools used in our courses appropriate to the teaching area — for example SQL/databases, Python or R, Tableau or Power BI, Excel modeling, and/or systems analysis and design
• Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students

Preferred qualifications include:

• Doctoral degree in a related field
• Significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment
• Relevant performance and professional experience
• Professional currency, certifications, and/or scholarly activity to support the College's AACSB accreditation
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts and hands-on experience with AI tools

The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.

Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.

All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month

Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month
