Position DetailsSalary: $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lecture unit rate; $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lab parity unit rate; $1,258.16 – $1,380.60 per lab unit rate.
Responsibilities- Teach selected courses, such as JOUR 210 – Multimedia Journalism, which includes lecture and lab components.
- Design syllabi and train students in the use of technology and the ethical practices of journalism.
- Provide office hours as needed and support student learning.
- Participate in curriculum development and technical support within the journalism department.
- Master’s degree in journalism or communication with a specialization in journalism; or Bachelor’s in either field plus a Master’s in English, history, communication, literature, composition, comparative literature, social science, business, marketing, graphics or photography; or a valid California teaching credential for the appropriate subject area; or equivalent qualifications as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
- Evidence of degree conferred on a legible transcript.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

- Experience with real‑world journalism, radio, or broadcasting.
- Passion for teaching community college students.
- Experience applying diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in the workplace or classroom.
