Special Education Clinical Coaches Part‑Time Lecturer Pool
The Department of Special Education at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Clinical Coaches Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.
Appointments from the part‑time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise students in the Education Specialist Teaching Credential program, providing guidance and support in field placements and other instructional components.
Required Qualifications- Current or expired Education Specialist Credential with 3 years’ experience or 3 years’ equivalent experience working with birth‑to‑22 youth in diverse settings.
- Demonstrated commitment to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education.
- Knowledge of public schooling context, California grade‑12 content standards, frameworks, and accountability systems.
- Knowledgeable of Teacher Performance Expectations and able to support candidate development related to TPEs and TPAs.
- Knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches.
- Committed to ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology.
- Ability to use current technologies to communicate and share documents with candidates and mentor teachers.
- Clinical coaches without a master’s degree are not eligible to teach courses in the program; they may only supervise in field placements.
- Master's Degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
- Experience using anti‑racist teaching and social justice pedagogies.
- Experience working with plurilingual students.
- Experience supporting teachers, teacher candidates, or new teachers.
- Active membership in subject matter professional organizations.
All part‑time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers under the CSU/California Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. Initial appointments are for one semester. Classification range is $5,507 – $6,677 per month, prorated to the number of units worked. Salary ranges up to $6,221 per month based on qualifications.
Mandatory Reporter and Background CheckThe position requires compliance with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and a satisfactory background check. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the security screening as required by CSU policy.
