Salary Range: $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lecture unit rate or $1,258.16 – $1,380.60 per lab unit rate, depending on education.
Job DescriptionWe’re seeking instructors to teach the following courses, with the potential for continuing appointments in these and/or other courses based on need. Appointment is contingent on class enrollment for each semester.
- CRTV 235 – On-Air Radio – Fall 2026 – in person, MW 9:00 a.m.–12:50 p.m.
- CRTV 129 – Broadcast News – Spring 2026
Students will learn technical, creative, and legal foundations for live radio, podcast content, and broadcast journalism standards. Instructors will design syllabi, train students in necessary technology, and conduct lectures and lab sessions. The journalism/radio department supports curriculum and technology.
Instructors may teach at least 6 units per semester (approximately two classes) to qualify for health insurance.
Essential FunctionsDesign course syllabi and deliver content in classroom and lab settings. Support students’ technical, creative, and legal skill development. Engage in continuing professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of broadcast technologies.
Special Requirements- All degrees must be verified with a legible transcript. Grade cards not accepted.
- All qualifications must come from accredited postsecondary institutions. Evaluation of foreign degrees required.
- Official transcripts and verification of experience must be provided prior to first duty day.
- Identification and employment eligibility per I‑9 must be provided.
- Fingerprints and required medical certification must be completed.
- NOCCCD does not sponsor visa applications.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher AND at least two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
- OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience.
- OR possess a valid California teaching credential for community college.
- OR equivalent qualifications as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
