Asian American Studies - Part-Time Lecturer Pool
The Department of Asian American Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student centered to teach in the following subject areas:
- Introduction to Ethnic Studies
- Introduction to Asian Pacific American Studies
- History of Asian Pacific Americans
- Asian Pacific American Cultural Studies
- Asian American Film and Video
- Asian American Women
- Ideas, Imagination and Intersections in Ethnic Studies/Asian American Studies
- Community, Liberation and Action in Ethnic Studies/Asian American Studies
- Vietnamese Communities in the US
- Multiple Heritage Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders
- South Asian American Experiences
- Korean American Experiences
- World War II Japanese American Evacuation
- Civic Engagement Through Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies
- Survey of American History with Emphasis on Ethnic Minorities
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
Required qualifications:
- ABD doctoral candidate or Master's degree with substantial graduate course work in Asian American Studies, ethnic studies, or related fields
- Expertise in fields relevant to the Department of Asian American Studies curriculum.
- Evidence of prior relevant teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience
- Evidence of experience in relevant academic field or relevant professional/community-based experience.
- Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
