Division of Anthropology – Graduate Assistant Pool
The Division of Anthropology (ANTH) at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Graduate Assistant Pool. We welcome current CSUF graduate students in the Division of Anthropology to assist ANTH faculty with course preparation, evaluating student assignments, providing research assistance and performing other tasks as assigned in the following subject areas:
- Archaeology
- Cultural Anthropology
- Evolutionary Anthropology
This is a pool of Graduate Assistants for the department to draw on as necessary. Assignments are temporary and are often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants may be offered course assignments on very short notice.
Required Qualifications- Currently enrolled graduate student at CSUF
- Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Completed coursework focusing on Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology or Evolutionary Anthropology
- Earn an average of 3.5 in courses in Anthropology coursework
- Excellent organizational skills (time management, communication, self‑motivation, attention to detail)
- Excellent interpersonal skills (active listening, teamwork, patience, flexibility, responsibility)
- Excellent writing skills
- Must be able to work a total of 5–20 hours per week
- Position is in-person and remote, per approval
- Must possess research skills
- Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, Publisher
- Interested candidate must be available to attend mandatory in‑person training (dates, time, location TBD)
For Federal Work Study (FWS) applicants, you must:
- Be awarded FWS for the academic year
- Maintain enrollment of at least 6 units per semester
- Review and meet the FWS eligibility requirements
- Send a copy/screenshot of your FWS verification award to Nancy Mancias at nmancias

All Graduate Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers. Classification range: $3,245 to $6,072 per month. Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $3,800. The full‑time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
Reporting RequirementsThe person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.
