Biology Instructor Pool – Part‑Time
Department: FC Natural Sciences, Fullerton College, North Orange County Community College District
Location:
Fullerton College campus; may also teach at dual enrollment sites.
Employment:
Part‑time; months and schedule vary; continuous recruitment for as‑needed assignments.
Post retention:
One‑year active recruitment; position may close earlier if needs are met.
The Natural Sciences Division seeks adjunct instructors to teach general biology lecture and lab courses, human biology lecture and lab courses, and biotechnology lecture and lab courses for the Fall 2025 semester and beyond.
Courses to teach include BIOL 101F, BIOL 102F, BIOL 102LF, BIOL 190F, BIOL 190LF (Biology/Nat Sci).
Responsibilities- Deliver lecture and laboratory instruction in biology and related fields.
- Prepare and grade assignments, examinations, and laboratory reports.
- Maintain up‑to‑date course materials and incorporate current scientific developments.
- Provide academic advising and support to students as needed.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
- Conduct research‑based instruction appropriate for community‑college level.
- Use technology and online platforms to deliver course content and assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues and academic departments to enhance curricular offerings.
- Master’s degree in any biological science, or
- Bachelor’s degree in any biological science AND a Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science, or
- Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject area, or equivalent credentials/experience as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
- MS or advanced degree in biology, cellular biology, developmental biology, ecology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or allied fields.
- Experience using data‑driven teaching methods to engage disproportionately impacted student populations.
