Classification: Title

Salary: $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lecture unit rate; $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lab parity unit rate; $1,258.16 – $1,380.60 per lab unit rate.

Job description: Teach Japanese courses in Spring 2026. Course level, days, and times will be determined based on departmental needs.

Special requirements: All degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript; grade cards are not accepted. Official transcripts and verification of experience are required before first duty day.

Minimum qualifications:

• Master’s in the language being taught
• Or Bachelor’s in the language being taught
• And Master’s in another language or linguistics
• Or possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject area
• Or equivalent qualifications determined by the District Equivalency Committee
• Commitment to diversity; demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.

Desirable qualifications:

• Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices to engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations, with goal of closing equity gaps.
