The university seeks an exceptional individual to join the Housing-Administration team as the Assistant Director, Residential Engagement for Themed Living Communities and Campus Partnerships (Student Services Professional IV). Salary Range: $6,320 - $6,994 per month

Appointment Type: Time Base

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend hours.

Job Summary

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field plus upper division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution.
• Four years of professional student services work experience including experience advising students individually and in groups, as well as the analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
• A master's degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a related field may substitute for one year of professional experience.
• A Doctoral degree and internship/clinical training may substitute for two years of professional experience.
• Thorough knowledge of program area policies, procedures, and practices, and the ability to acquire knowledge of related programs and university operations.
• Ability to carry out very complex assignments, advise students, determine appropriate actions, and work with individuals and groups in sensitive situations.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate data and project consequences of actions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

A background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if disqualifying information is found or information is knowingly withheld or falsified. Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, College Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, Educational Leadership, Student Development, or related field.
• Three or more years of professional experience in residential education, residential engagement, or housing and residence life.
• Previous live-in professional experience within university housing.
• Experience developing and assessing residential curriculum, Theme Living Communities, or living-learning initiatives.
• Experience supervising graduate assistants, professional staff, and/or student leaders.
• Experience developing campus-wide partnerships and collaborative educational initiatives.
• Experience with student learning assessment, program evaluation, and strategic planning.
