Mental health and/or Addiction studies, with an emphasis on clinical/direct service engagement, utilizing an integrated approach working with individuals, families, and/or communities. The department is especially interested in candidates who align with our mission to prepare undergraduate students to serve diverse populations and whose teaching, research, and service reflect a commitment to equity, belonging, and social justice. The primary responsibilities include:
Teaching at the undergraduate level, engaging in scholarship and other scholarly creative activities. Serving the department, college, university, community, and the profession; for example, mentoring students and participating in campus and system-wide committees, working collaboratively within the University and the communities we serve, as well as participating in traditional academic functions.

Required Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate in human services or a closely related field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology, public health, family studies and human development, applied anthropology) from an accredited institution before appointment.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds, with an understanding of the impact of lived experiences on student learning.
  • Ability to teach lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses related to mental health, addiction studies, case management, and community-based interventions.
  • Experience in providing clinical and/or applied services to individuals, families, and/or communities, particularly those impacted by mental health, addiction, or related challenges using culturally responsive approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and scholarly work in one or more relevant areas: mental health, addiction, or family/community systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a culturally diverse campus community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate teaching experience
  • Experience with evidence-based approaches to teaching and community engagement
  • Potential to secure external funding to support research or community-engaged initiatives
