The Office for Civil Rights and Equity within the Division of Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Prevention and Education Coordinator (Student Services Professional IV) and advance our ongoing commitment to foster and maintain a campus environment free from all forms of discrimination and harassment. We are searching for a driven, proactive, and ethically minded individual to assist with the prevention and investigation of all forms of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual exploitation, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation.
The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under general supervision of the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Senior Civil Rights Investigator, the Prevention and Education Coordinator will develop, implement, and assess evidence-based prevention and education programs, initiatives, and awareness campaigns designed to prevent sexual misconduct, sexual exploitation, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, retaliation, and discrimination and harassment based on age, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, nationality, pregnancy or related conditions, race or ethnicity (including color, caste, or ancestry), religion or religious creed, sex (including sex stereotyping or sex characteristics), sexual orientation, and veteran or military Status.
The Prevention and Education Coordinator will contribute to the development and implementation of the Office for Civil Rights and Equity’s campus-wide strategic prevention and education plan in accordance with relevant federal and state laws and systemwide CSU policies. This includes, but is not limited to, creating training materials, delivering presentations and interactive workshops, and designing tailored outreach to educate students and employees on their rights, options, responsibilities, and resources related to Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, related laws, and CSU policies.
Annual trainings include those to fraternities, sororities, Division I Athletics teams and employees, sports clubs, residential communities, identified student organizations, employees and student staff who have responsibilities for responding to alleged misconduct, and underserved populations.
In addition to contributing to annual online and in-person trainings, the Prevention and Education Coordinator will help develop the Prevention and Education team’s community-wide and audience-specific primary prevention efforts, including: bystander intervention programs, educational outreach, awareness programs, workshops to promote awareness of relevant CSU policies and foster a culture of care and shared accountability, events acknowledging critical awareness months, and an annual one-day violence prevention conference.
