Assistant Professor of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics
The Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Asian American Literature with an appointment to begin Fall, 2027.

The appointee will be expected to teach a wide range of courses in all areas of the English major, both at the upper-division and graduate (M.A.) levels, as well as lower-division, introductory, and general education courses. Evidence of an active research program and high-quality teaching is required. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to and participate in the life and development of the department, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities.
Required Qualifications- Ph.D. in English, Comparative Literature, or a related field with an emphasis in Asian American Literature or a related field is required by August 2027. ABDs must show evidence of degree completion prior to appointment.
- Ability to balance excellent teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Evidence of successful, high-quality teaching.
- Active research program with demonstrated evidence of, or clear potential for, high-quality peer-reviewed publication.
- Potential for collegial participation in departmental, campus, and disciplinary communities.
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
- A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
- Experience in teaching children's literature or creative writing
- Tertiary emphasis in contemporary literature, queer literatures, feminist or women's literatures.
