the department of asian american studies at csu fullerton invites applications for its part-time lecturer pool.
we welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student centered to teach in the following subject areas:
- introduction to ethnic studies
- introduction to asian pacific american studies
- history of asian pacific americans
- asian pacific american cultural studies
- asian american film and video
- asian american women
- ideas, imagination and intersections in ethnic studies/ asian american studies
- community, liberation and action in ethnic studies/ asian american studies
- vietnamese communities in the us
- multiple heritage asian americans and pacific islanders
- south asian american experiences
- korean american experiences
- world war ii japanese american evacuation
- civic engagement through asian american and pacific islander studies
- survey of american history with emphasis on ethnic minorities
this is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.
appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
required qualifications- abd doctoral candidate or master's degree with substantial graduate course work in asian american studies, ethnic studies, or related fields
- expertise in fields relevant to the department of asian american studies curriculum.
- evidence of prior relevant teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience
- evidence of experience in relevant academic field or relevant professional/community-based experience.
- candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
- experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
