Department: The Undeclared and Academic Advising department within the Division of Academic Affairs supports undergraduate students—especially those who have not yet declared a major—by providing comprehensive academic advising and major explorationguidance. The center helps students navigate general educationrequirements, explore academic and career interests, and make informed decisions about their educational path. Our Academic Advising mission is to work in a collaborative partnership with students, a shared responsibility, where the advisor and studentare equally invested in the educational process and holistic development of the student.

We are seeking an exceptionalindividual to join our team as the College Advisor, College of Business and Economics (Student Services Professional II). Theideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and anactive, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity,and kindness.

Salary Range: $5,083 - $5,619 per month

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00PM

Essential

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field andtwo years of professional experience in one of the student servicesprogram areas or a related field. A master's degree in ajob-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-yearbasis.

General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizationalmanagement, research, and interview techniques. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, obtain factualand interpretative information through interviews, and advisestudents individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Ability to reason logically and use initiative in planningwork assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements. Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities.

Ability to interact with adiverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Abilityto analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effectivecourses of action. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability toacquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and of the overall organization.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU willmake a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded ifthe background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or itis discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsifiedinformation. Failure to complete the background checksatisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSUemployee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Competence of following all university policies, procedures, and guidelines, including but not limited to safety, civility,information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to reason logically and use initiative in planning work assignments and implementing long-range program improvements. Ability to collect, compile, analyze, and evaluatedata and make verbal or written presentations based on those data.

Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopteffective courses of action. Ability to acquire knowledge of the operations, functions, and programs of the campus and unit to whichassigned. Proficiency in using common office suites (e.g.,Office
365). Proficiency in using relevant student engagementplatforms and tools (e.g., Navigate, video production tools) (EABNavigate, Ellucian Degree Audit, etc.).
