Mechanical Engineer II– Radar & Sensors

Overview

Mechanical Engineer Product Team – Sentinel radar product line, based in Fullerton, CA. This onsite role may require domestic and international travel to suppliers.

Fullerton, CA (onsite). Travel:
Minimum 25% domestic and international. Security clearance:
DoD Secret (U.S. citizenship required).

• Work within a team environment to develop innovative mechanical subsystems with solid modeling practices and drawing creation using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solid Works, or equivalent.
• Develop preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate 3‑D design models and/or conceptual designs.
• Provide mechanical engineering solutions on production issues to functional leadership and engage resources (subject matter experts, etc.) to resolve production issues rapidly and efficiently.
• Collaborate with functional team leads for integration efforts across Cross Product Teams in the Sentinel portfolio to ensure successful system design, integration, production, and program execution.
• Provide radar technical data package (TDP) support that includes design, development, manufacturing, and failure investigation solutions.

• Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
• Demonstrated mechanical engineering design knowledge.
• Exposure to product lifecycle stages of a radar production program.
• Experience resolving technical challenges.
• Minimum 25% travel to suppliers and production facilities (domestic and international).
• Preferred:
  Advanced degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or hardware system design.
• Experience working in a factory supporting full‑rate production of radar components and assemblies.
• Experience working with suppliers that manufacture machined parts, panels, and electronics.
• Experience in manufacturing and tolerancing radar mechanical systems.
• Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimension and Tolerances).
• Strong CAD, technical writing, and oral communication skills.

The salary range for this role is US $75,800 – US $144,200.
