Mechanical Engineer Product Team

The Tactical Radars and Effectors department within Raytheon Hardware Engineering supports the development, production, and deployment of multiple defense products including radars, missiles, command and control systems, and naval electronics. The products support US Government and international customers.

The Mechanical Engineer Product Team role will support the Sentinel radar product line based in Fullerton, CA and may require domestic and international travel to suppliers.

What You Will Do

Will work within a team environment to develop innovative mechanical subsystems with solid modeling practices and drawing creation using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or equivalent. Develop preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate 3-D design models and/or conceptual designs. Apply knowledge of fabrication processes, capabilities and limitations. Provide Mechanical Engineering solutions on production issues to functional leadership and engagement for resources (Subject Matter Experts, etc.)

to resolve production issues rapidly and efficiently. Collaborate with functional team leads for the integration efforts across the Cross Product Teams in the Sentinel portfolio to ensure successful system design, integration, production and program execution. Supports program growth and technology insertion strategies working closely with the functional leaders, program technical leadership, and Program Office. Supports the Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for planning and execution of production programs, lateral product applications, and major Engineering Changes.

Qualifications

You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations, or An Advanced Degree in a related field. Demonstrated mechanical engineering design knowledge. Experience resolving technical challenges. Position requires a minimum of 25% of travel to suppliers and production facilities which include domestic and international travel.

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
