Senior Environmental Scientist III
Location:
Fullerton, California.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist municipal, utility, industrial, and commercial clients with stormwater planning and compliance for Phase I and II MS4 permits, CGP, and IGP.
- Interpret complex regulatory permits and provide regulatory compliance strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, conduct environmental compliance inspections and sampling, and deliver high‑quality deliverables on time and within budget.
- Lead environmental sampling, testing, and observations (surface water, stormwater, groundwater, wastewater, soils, and sediments).
- Execute/manage field investigations and conduct site inspections (QSP, QISP, FOG).
- Develop and implement monitoring and reporting plans and field studies.
- Perform data management and analysis, including regulatory and water quality analyses.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and manage workload of other Environmental Scientist staff.
- Meet with clients about work and performance, and discuss current and future projects.
- Participate in or lead technical presentations.
- BS in Environmental Science, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional work experience.
- Knowledge of stormwater permitting and planning, water quality monitoring, BMPs, and environmental compliance inspections.
- Certified Professional in Surface Water Quality (CPSWQ) or Certified Professional Environmental Safety and Compliance (CPESC).
- QSD or QSP and QISP certifications.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze plans, technical manuals, and permits.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and high attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, proactive, self‑starter, positive attitude, and team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- MS or PhD in Environmental Science, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS.
- OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
- Experience performing maintenance and calibration of environmental monitoring instruments, meters, probes, and automated sampling equipment.
$83,000 – $125,000 USD
