Sentinel Maintainer - Djibouti

Position Overview

Title: Radar Maintainer – Sentinel Life Cycle Contractor Support (LCCS)
Location: Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti (initial onboarding in Fullerton, CA).
Role Type: Onsite, Unaccompanied Assignment. U.S. citizenship required with active DoD Secret clearance.
Duration: Minimum 12‑month assignment from arrival in AFRICOM.

Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance (DoD Secret) required on day one. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain the clearance.

• Perform regular Sentinel maintenance and Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) using Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
• Conduct first and second level diagnostics, fault isolation, alignment, calibration, and repair verification of Sentinel radar systems.
• Support Sentinel Radar system operation in coordination with U.S. Army units and rotate with Army staff as requested.
• Manage generator vehicle (400
  
  Hz) operation and maintenance alongside the Army and contractors.
• Maintain inventory and records for RTX spares and test equipment, ensuring 24/7 availability.
• Work with hand tools and test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, multimeters) during maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assist in the movement of Sentinel spares to work sites, complete shipping records, and maintain accountability for parts.
• Travel to additional remote sites within Camp Lemonnier to support off‑base Sentinel systems.
• Collaborate in a team environment, providing guidance to team members and responding to input from Sentinel management and SMEs.

Required:

• University degree or equivalent professional experience with at least 5 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of related experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating and maintaining radar systems (S‑band or X‑band artillery search and acquisition radars such as Firefinder or Sentinel).
• Experience interpreting technical manuals, product drawings, and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with test equipment including oscilloscopes, power meters, and digital multimeters.
• Ability to meet overseas medical requirements and pass required physicals for AFRICOM deployment.
• Commitment to a continuous 12‑month assignment after arrival.
• Physical capability to lift 25lbs independently and assist with lifts up to 75lbs; work outdoors in extreme temperatures up to 120°F for 12‑hour shifts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and a valid DoD Secret security clearance on day one.

Preferred:

• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• MOS 94M Radar Repairer or equivalent military radar maintainer training.
• Knowledge of military operational and tactical procedures for air defense systems.
• Experience in air defense tactical operations at battery level or above.
• Experience with Patriot depot forward maintenance, Raytheon quality control procedures, and Patriot refurbishment projects.
• Previous international Patriot FMS program experience and overseas deployment.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain system records and coordinate with teams.

Competitive salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD (annual).
