Description:
Overall
Purpose:
The Drafter/Drawing Checker is responsible for drawing and DCN creation, revision and checking to the internal and external customer's requirements and to industry standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create and revise fully dimensioned Detail Part drawings, Top Assembly drawings and Tooling drawings from rough product designs while ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards
- Create and modify 3D models
- Verify drawings are in compliance with customer requirements, company standards and industry regulations
- Examine engineering drawings to detect and mark-up errors for Drafter rework
- Confer with design personnel to resolve drawing and design discrepancies
- Provide guidance/instructions to the Drafter in order to improve Drafter capability, maintain standardization and minimize errors/omissions
- Review final drawing prior to release
- Adhere to 5S Standards
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety

Position Requirements:
Qualification Requirements:
- Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in drafting or related subject from an accredited college
- 5 years of mechanical drafting experience
- Experience with Solidworks modeling and drafting
- 2 years of experience as a Drawing Checker with training in ANSI Y 14.5M1985 and experience with DOD-1000 and MIL-STD-100
- Knowledge of GD & T is preferred
- Strong writing, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)

While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle, type or feel, reach with hands and arms, speak or hear. While performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk.

Hourly rate starts $35-40 based on experience
