- Our client has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) professional to support our environmental compliance and OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs, and work with individuals and teams to foster employee engagement and drive continuous improvement of our EH&S program and culture. EH&S Environmental Engineer will support both the Raytheon Fullerton, CA, and El Segundo, CA, sites.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate Environmental, Health & Safety knowledge in one or more of the following areas: environmental sustainability and compliance, occupational safety and will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing EH&S programs and initiatives in a fast-paced engineering and R&D environment.
- Ability to maintain site compliance with the local, state and federal regulations (including, but not limited to EPA, DTSC SCAQMD, OC Health Care Agency and Cal OSHA)
- Motivated self-starter - able to apply experience to new situations without detailed instruction or ongoing supervision.
- In-Depth knowledge of environmental regulations (SPCC, CERS, RCRA, Universal Waste, Hazardous Waste, Refrigerant, and Air Quality Management) as well as permitting/reporting requirements.
- Monitor and analyze environmental performance metrics to track progress and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability initiatives into business operations.
- Engage with stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers, and leaders to promote environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives.
- Experienced with interfacing with regulatory agencies, such as SCAQMD, DTSC, CUPA, and Cal OSHA in site audits and inspections.
- Knowledge of Cal OSHA VPP program elements.
- Develop and present EH&S training and presentations to employees and management.
- Manage and perform contractor safety and oversight activities.
- 1-2 years in the field of Environmental, Health, and Safety
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
