Become a Key Player as a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Air ConditioningYou will lead HVAC system engineering from concept through permit-ready plans, owning calculations, equipment selection, and engineering documentation. You will impact project outcomes across multiple sites with heavy travel (including Arizona, Texas, Washington) while collaborating with project teams, contractors, and permitting authorities. Onsite with extensive travel required.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team- Perform complete HVAC system engineering and design calculations, including heat-load calculations
- Size and route ductwork and piping and develop detailed HVAC system designs
- Prepare engineering plans and specifications for permit submittals
- Select and specify HVAC equipment and system accessories (chillers, heat pumps, packaged AC, split systems, VRF, boilers, pumps, ventilation fans, controls)
- Participate in job walks and site visits to collect field information and resolve real-world installation challenges
- Design and size both air-cooled and water-cooled HVAC systems
- Support other engineering and design responsibilities as assigned
- Hands-on HVAC / air-conditioning engineering experience (non-residential systems)
- Strong understanding of HVAC engineering calculations and ASHRAE standards
- Knowledge of California building and mechanical codes and ability to develop designs suitable for permitting
- Experience with chillers, heat pumps, packaged AC, split systems, VRF, boilers, ventilation, ductwork, pumps, and controls
- Experience working with actual field conditions and job sites
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Energy Pro, and Bluebeam
- Experience preparing California Title 24 energy compliance reports
- Valid driver's license
- Engineering degree
- Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license
- EPA Universal certification
$120,000 - $140,000/year
