About the Role
As the first point of contact for most clients, the Teller - Float plays a key role in delivering the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. The primary responsibilities include:
- Ensuring banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations.
- Traveling within a geographic area to cover branches that need staffing support.
- Performing teller transactions and cash‑handling functions accurately and confidentially (deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, balancing cash drawer, etc.).
- Supporting daily tasks that maintain the integrity of the branch (double custody for ATM balancing, processing night drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, processing returned mail, balancing credit card machine, updating lobby rate sheets and brochures, etc.).
- Mitigating risk by ensuring safekeeping of money in the cash drawer and prompt accounting or transfer of funds.
- Interacting with external and internal clients, anticipating needs, and providing proactive solutions and problem resolutions in alignment with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
- Continuously deepening knowledge of Columbia Bank’s product and service offerings and staying current on changes.
- Discussing and uncovering customer financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services.
- Supporting referral goals for the branch by focusing on and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- One year of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions.
- Consistent ability and willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.

Pay Range$20.00 to $22.50 per hour. Pay rate depends on knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographic location. The role is eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation.
Primary Location200 West Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton, CA 92832. Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s).

Benefit eligibility begins the first day of the month following the date of hire for associates who are regularly scheduled to work at least thirty hours weekly.
