  • Willing to drive and provide Medical Receptionist support on a mobile medical clinic.
  • Daytime work schedule - 40 hours, we are open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 5pm.

Essential Functions (What You Do)
  • Graciously greet patients and visitors promptly and politely to the medical office and obtain all required information to register patients. Ensure and assist patients in completing all forms and route those forms to the appropriate personnel or department. Input registration demographic and insurance information into the computer. Review current registration information with the patient, updating information as required. Determine patient insurance eligibility and PCP.

    Assist patient in selecting a PCP if one has not been selected.
  • Review provider schedules in advance to ensure pre registration of new patients. Assemble and send new patient registration packets, history and physical forms prior to scheduled appointments.
  • Schedule patient visits per established procedures and ensure inclusion of all required ICD‑10 codes for scheduling. Confirm appointments, cancel appointments and notify clinical staff of appointment changes. Discuss scheduling conflicts or problems with supervisors or clinical staff. Provide schedule updates during the day. Generate bump/wait lists and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
  • Inform clinical personnel when patients have arrived virtually or in clinic, route patient to appropriate clinical area.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls. Route calls as appropriate or take detailed, accurate, legible messages. Communicate with answering service regarding office hours, covering provider, etc. Handle prescription refill requests per established procedures.
  • Check patients out at the end of visit, answering any patient questions including simple billing questions. Review charge/encounter ticket for completeness and accuracy. Obtain missing information from clinical staff. Arrive, cancel, and no‑show appointments. Prepare no‑show letters for physician signature.
  • Responsible for collection of outstanding balances as indicated on the encounter ticket. Determine total charges for the visit and calculate patient financial responsibility per established policies and procedures. Collect required copayments, payments (cash, check, credit card), issue receipts, stamp back of checks and record MRN, make change, etc., per established procedures. Ensure cash is secure by following established procedures. Balance cash drawer at the end of shift/day.

    Ensure that billing information and collections are routed to appropriate personnel or department.
  • Assist in verifying and processing patient referrals, as needed.
  • Assist with medical records requests and scanning documents, as needed.
