Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Employee Relations, Talent Manager
Full-Time | Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 remote) | Fullerton, CA
$33 - $38 per hour
Endemic Environmental Services is an environmental consulting firm supporting infrastructure, restoration, and regulatory compliance projects across California. With about 60 employees statewide and plans to add 10 to 20 team members in the coming months, we are investing in stronger HR systems and support to scale thoughtfully and sustainably.
We are hiring an experienced HR Generalist to partner directly with the HR Manager to run day-to-day HR operations. This is a hands-on, independent role for someone who already understands HR fundamentals and takes pride in keeping things organized, compliant, and moving forward.
If you are naturally proactive, detail-oriented, and the person who closes the loop instead of letting tasks linger, you will fit in well here.
What You Will Own- Lead onboarding, offboarding, and new hire orientation from start to finish
- Maintain organized personnel files, documentation, and HR systems that are accurate and audit-ready
- Coordinate and track required safety and training programs and follow up to completion
- Assist with payroll processing in Paychex Flex, with the goal of independently running payroll over time
- Draft job descriptions, post openings, and support recruiting activities
- Respond to routine manager and employee HR questions with professionalism and good judgment
- Track deadlines, follow ups, and compliance tasks to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
- Improve processes and documentation to create more efficient, reliable workflows
- Benefits administration and leave coordination
- Employee relations documentation and follow up
- HR projects and policy improvements led by the HR Manager
- 3 or more years of California HR Generalist or equivalent experience
- Hands-on payroll processing experience required
- Working knowledge of California wage and hour laws and HR compliance fundamentals
- Experience managing onboarding and compliance programs independently
- Naturally organized with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, responsive, and known for strong follow-through
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and keeping work moving without constant direction
- PHR or SHRM certification is a plus
- Direct partnership with HR leadership and real influence on how HR operates

Hybrid schedule: four days in office in Fullerton and one day remote.
CompensationCompetitive hourly pay of $33 to $38 per hour (approximately $69,000 to $79,000 annually
) based on experience and qualifications. There is opportunity for increased compensation as responsibilities expand and performance is demonstrated.
