The Role

Found Rental Co. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Inventory Manager. The role is responsible for the effective and accurate management of Found Rental Co.’s extensive, high-value furniture and decor inventory across multiple California warehouse locations. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory integrity, optimizing stock levels, overseeing inter‑warehouse transfers, and driving process efficiency to support the company’s fast‑paced, high‑end event schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Control

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust inventory control systems and procedures to ensure 99% accuracy for thousands of rental items.
  • Oversee and perform regular cycle counts and comprehensive physical inventories across both California warehouses.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies (damage, loss, shrinkage) in a timely and effective manner, implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage the inventory lifecycle, including receiving new assets, preparing items for rental, tracking items out/in from events, and coordinating repair/refurbishment with the in‑house shop team.
  • Ensure all inventory data (location, condition, quantities) is accurate in the rental management software.
Logistics & Inter‑Warehouse Transfers
  • Strategically plan and execute the transfer of inventory between the Southern California and Northern California warehouses to meet order demand and balance stock levels.
  • Optimize storage layouts and organization within both warehouses to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency for a large, varied inventory.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations, Sales, and Logistics teams to forecast inventory needs based on contract bookings and market trends.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Inventory team, setting clear performance goals and fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and safety.
  • Develop and deliver effective training programs on inventory control best practices, system usage, and proper handling of luxury rental assets.
  • Manage daily staffing, scheduling, and delegation of tasks to meet operation deadlines.
Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, pinpoint operational bottlenecks, and propose strategies for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
  • Generate regular reports on inventory valuation, turnover, shrinkage, and transfer efficiency for executive review.
  • Maintain and enforce company‑wide safety standards and procedures within the warehouse environment, especially related to equipment handling and furniture movement.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or logistics, with 3+ years in a management/supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing a large, high‑volume inventory (preferably in event rentals).
  • Expert‑level proficiency with Rental Management Software.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage cycle count programs and achieve high levels of inventory accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with luxury and vintage goods handling and quality control.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
