Category Quality Control

Description Overall Purpose

The Calibration Technician will calibrate various types of test equipment and document findings per ISO, ANSI, and NIST requirements. The Calibration Technician will also inspect machined components, hose assemblies and other hardware to verify compliance to our specifications as well as customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, adjust, and repair precision measuring instruments, gauges, and equipment to ensure they meet and conform to established procedures and industry standards.
  • Ensure all equipment aligns with internal quality standards, such as ISO and internal company procedures.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on faulty equipment, suggesting upgrades when necessary.
  • Collect equipment and gauges based on the calibration schedule.
  • Record calibration results, maintain accurate documentation, and generate reports, including calibration certificates.
  • Maintain accurate identification of equipment and gauges by using a calibration sticker upon calibration.
  • Work with the Purchasing Department to coordinate calibration performed by outside calibration labs.
  • Review and approve calibration certificates from outside calibration labs.
  • Assist in other areas as needed, including receiving inspection by performing dimensional and visual inspection of machined products.
  • Follow quality system procedures, policies and instructions.
  • Adhere to 5S Standards.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety.
Other Duties
  • Other duties based on the needs of the Inspection Department and Quality Department.

Position Requirements Qualification Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong math background
  • Must possess computer skills, knowledge of Windows Office applications.
  • Electrical, pressure and temperature calibration experience preferred
  • Knowledge of metrology and metrology-related terminology required
  • Proficient in the use of basic measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth mics, optical comparators, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and other documented specifications
  • Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
  • Have legible handwriting
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)

    • 20/25 eyesight or better with or without corrective lenses
    • Cannot be colorblind
