Responsibilities
Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Quality Tech II- 2nd Shift for the Fullerton, CA site. This role involves setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC‑controlled machine tools, as well as performing post‑processing inspections to verify that aerospace parts meet customer drawing requirements.
The position requires reviewing customer drawings, measuring parts with precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and Keyence IM, producing non‑conformance reports, and maintaining quality documentation including dimensional inspection reports and logbooks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform sampling according to customer requirements.
- Conduct dimensional, visual, and receiving inspections.
- Review third‑party certification of compliance documentation.
- Support the recall of gages and tools.
- Review manufacturing router.
- Prepare quality documentation, including inspection reports and logbooks.
- Prepare non‑conformance reports for Quality and Engineering evaluation.
- Use hand tooling such as micrometers, microscopes, calipers, and thread gages.
- Apply sampling plans, drawings, work instructions, industry standards, and specifications to verify product acceptance.
- Perform other duties as part of cross‑training or employee development plans.
- Operate basic computer functions for database and spreadsheet entry.
- 2+ years of related quality experience or training, or equivalent education and experience.
- Prior experience as a Quality Inspector.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong basic math skills, including calculation of rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Demonstrated common‑sense problem‑solving in standardized situations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required.
- Work hours:
5 days, 8 hours a day, with overtime as needed.
