Department
The Office of Alumni Engagement within the Division of University Advancement strives to foster a lifelong community of alumni connected to each other and to the institution with the goal of generating private financial support and engagement with the University. Alumni Engagement staff also supports the Alumni Association Board of Directors in efforts to advance a positive CSUF image, promote university and alumni accomplishments, and provide opportunities for alumni networking.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Associate Director, Communication and Marketing (Administrator I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement, the Associate Director of Communications and Marketing is responsible for managing alumni communications and marketing as well as affinity partner communication strategies. The Associate Director will serve as a key liaison with the Alumni Association Board of Directors providing strategic consult and staff support to the Membership and Marketing Committee.
The Associate Director will manage the following areas: print media, social media, website, and all communications for events, activities, philanthropy, membership, and other forms as necessary.
The Associate Director serves as the department Chief Communications Officer and will develop, write, edit, and conduct quality control on marketing and promotional materials for print, electronic, and social media. The Associate Director will represent the office and collaborate with campus partners to integrate messaging; develop content for Titan Magazine, Orange County Register CSUF section, and other outlets as appropriate. Consult and advise on alumni and student event marketing and promotion;
and manage merchandising for the department to ensure brand integrity and compliance with campus standards. Develop metrics, establish benchmarks, analyze communication reports, review current trends, track progress to set goals, and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies. Develop and maintain budget and financial forecasts for communications, marketing, promotional items, and acquisition campaigns.
The Associate Director will provide leadership and supervision to professional staff and student assistants. Additionally, will oversee the process of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding all student employees for the unit. Other duties as assigned.
