What You'll Be Doing in the role of Development ManagerThe Development Manager, CA Southland serves as an integral member of the CA Southland community-based fundraising team, supporting revenue-generating activities across three dynamic markets:
Inland Empire, Los Angeles, and Orange County. This position plays a key role in implementing year-round fundraising strategies and assists in achieving regional revenue goals totaling $17M+ across all markets.
The Development Manager will support the strategic execution of multiple signature events including the MORE THAN PINK Walk/Race for the Cure series, the LA Band As One event, and the Orange County Pink Tie Party. Working closely with the Executive Director, CA Southland and the Development Director, Social Events (OC), this position will coordinate cross-market initiatives, manage event logistics, cultivate corporate partnerships, and engage volunteers across all three markets.
WhatYou Will Bring to the Table Regional Fundraising & Revenue Support
- Assist in the development and execution of year-round fundraising plans and budgets across CA Southland markets (Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Orange County) to meet collective revenue goals.
- Support the Development Director, Social Events in executing the LA Band As One event and OC Pink Tie Party, including sponsorship cultivation, table sales, auction procurement, and event logistics.
- Execute strategic fundraising plans for the MORE THAN PINK Walk/Race for the Cure series across all three markets, including recruitment, retention, and cultivation of corporate teams, top fundraisers, and survivors.
- Meet monthly fundraising goals for designated revenue streams including MORE THAN PINK Walk, third-party events, individual giving, and employee engagement across assigned markets.
- Prospect, solicit, and cultivate corporate partnerships throughout the CA Southland region in collaboration with the Executive Director and national corporate partnership team.
- Manage communication with key constituents including top fundraisers, team captains, sponsors, volunteers, and gala leadership committees across all three markets.
- Develop and execute creative engagement strategies to motivate Walk Team Captains and participants, supporting retention and growth efforts.
- Travel throughout CA Southland markets to cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and community leaders.
- Coordinate event logistics for signature and special events across all three markets in collaboration with market leadership and the Event Experience team.
- Develop and manage operational committees to support signature events by recruiting, engaging, and activating volunteers in committee chair positions.
- Conduct regular committee meetings and maintain communication to ensure committees reach revenue and engagement goals.
- Adhere to best practices and event timelines; drive accountability across teams to keep participants, donors, volunteers, and staff on track.
- Work cross-functionally with Development Managers across the West Region on larger national strategies and best practice sharing.
- Provide leadership in building confidence and strong working relationships between CA Southland communities and Susan G. Komen as an organization.
- Maintain working knowledge of Susan G. Komen mission and programs to effectively promote field and campaign fundraising initiatives.
- Maintain productive and collaborative relationships with all Komen staff; participate on regional and enterprise projects and committees as appropriate.
