RN First Assistant

Description

RN First Assistant (RNFA) within our Operating Room at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA. This position is Full-Time and will work 12-hour Day shifts.

As an RNFA, you independently use the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for patients requiring surgical intervention. You use information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes and evaluate patients' plan of care. You collaborate with the surgeon and the healthcare team to perform a safe operative procedure with an optimal outcome for the patient.

You render direct patient care as defined by the RNFA Standardized Procedure and maintain practice privileges through the Medical Staffing office. When not providing assisting services, you will perform circulating and/or scrub duties as assigned.

• Hired prior to 1/1/11 (and rehired after 1/1/11):
  Graduate from nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or,
• Bachelor's Degree - Hired on/after 1/1/11:
  Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or,
• Hired as a result of a unit transfer from Heritage:
  Graduate from nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or,
• Hired as a ministry transfer:
  Currently enrolled in a BSN program with an expected graduation date within 6 months of hire.
• California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• Three (3) years of diversified perioperative Nursing experience.

• 2 years - Diversified RNFA experience.

Pay Range: $63.52 - $98.60 per hour. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
