Job Overview
Join the S.E.A.L. (Service, Excellence, Advocacy and Leadership) team, a full‑time RN float that supports Medical Surgical / Telemetry, Progressive Care / Critical Care, and Emergency Department across the Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies.
- Direct and manage the care of designated patients, utilizing effective communication with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and patients’ families.
- Initiate collaboration and communication to proactively resolve patient needs.
- Synthesize available data, information, and knowledge relevant to the situation to make decisions that optimize patient outcomes based on ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics.
- Demonstrate commitment to quality and safety by applying evidence‑based practice and participating in related projects.
- Use effective verbal and non‑verbal communication styles with patients, significant others, visitors, staff, and professional colleagues.
- Coordinate and provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course to facilitate an effective transition of care.
- Participate in all phases of the performance improvement process, including organizational and unit‑based patient experience goals.
- Perform validated technical skills based upon clinical specialty and unit practice.
- Utilize technology to optimize alternative modes of care delivery.
- Demonstrate leadership and team‑building skills, including teaching and mentoring new colleagues, delegating based on skill and acuity, and providing input on performance appraisals of care delivery team members.

- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
- Knowledge and competence that reflect current nursing practice.
- Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in patient care delivery.
- Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty.
- Attainment and maintenance of unit‑specific competencies.
- Basic computer skills.
- BLS – Basic Life Support (AHA) on hire.
- Registered Nurse licensed in Pennsylvania on hire.
- At least 2 years of relevant RN experience.
- BLS, ACLS certifications.
- Stroke certification.
- Completion of a dysrhythmia course.
- Completion of a critical care course such as ECCO or CCRN certification.
- Completion of a trauma course or TNCC certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Travel experience preferred.
Lift and carry 40–50 lbs (e.g., push/pull patients on bed or stretcher requiring 29 lbs push force, lateral transfers up to 50 lbs of patient weight). Frequent or continuous standing and walking; patient transporters may walk 8–10 miles per shift. May involve kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
