American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and on-call availability at an acute care hospital in California.
Details- Work setting is an acute care hospital (320 beds) in a Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab environment
- Cath Lab procedures performed include diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCIs, TAVR, IABP placement/removal, cardiac stent placement, ASD closures, and more
- EP procedures include arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, pacemaker insertion, AICD insertion/programming, and conduction studies
- Neuro skills are highly preferred — candidates with neuro experience would alternate STEMI and neuro call days; candidates without neuro experience would be assigned to STEMI call only
- Charting system:
Epic (required) - Schedule is days, 4x10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- On-call is required: 2 nights per week (post-shift) plus 1 weekend every 2 weeks, totaling 7 on-call days per pay period
- Weekends are required every other weekend, but may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
- Floating between sister facilities within the state may be required; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Active CA RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
- Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS
- NIHSS certification is preferred
- Minimum of 1.5 years of Cath Lab RN experience required; 2 years strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Proficiency in procedural sedation monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, ACT monitoring, and vascular studies/procedures required
- EP procedure experience (cardiac ablation, mapping, pacemaker/AICD, conduction studies) preferred
- Neuro procedure experience (carotid angiography, cerebral angiography) highly preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required for consideration
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a lower pay rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
- Facility does not accept candidates with background or Nursys hits
- RN scrub color is Royal Blue
- Holiday coverage is required; candidates must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day - All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at the time of consideration; post-offer RTO may not be granted, and scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
