Schedule
- Shift Type:
Flexible scheduling; must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
Assignment Details
- Average Patient Ratio: 1:2 - Average Census: 6–8 deliveries per day
Requirements
- Licensure:
Valid nursing license in hand
- Experience:
Minimum 1.5 years of labor & delivery nursing experience preferred (first-timers accepted)
- Certifications:
AWHONN Advanced, ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NRP - EMR: EPIC experience required
- Skills:
Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams independently
- Triage experience required
- Labor & delivery care, induction/augmentation (Pitocin) - External and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement - VBAC/TOLAC care - C-section assist/scrub and recovery
- Management of postpartum hemorrhage, magnesium sulfate therapy
- Newborn assessment/thermoregulation and NRP - IV starts, infusion pump/drip management, epidural/analgesia support
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in labor and delivery.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the labor process.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on labor and delivery processes.
- Assist with C-sections and other procedures as necessary.
- Support and manage postpartum care for mothers and newborns.
Compliance / Notes
- All scheduling and time-off requests must be submitted with application.
- Must be willing to work three of the five major holidays.
- Background checks and reference verification required.
- Scrubs will be provided; standard scrubs required for nursing roles.
