The University Police Department within the Division of Administration and Finance is dedicated to ensuring the University Community’s right to a crime‑free environment through exemplary and professional service.
As a Campus Safety Specialist, you will patrol Cal State Fullerton properties on foot, bicycle, and vehicle to maintain high visibility and protect the campus community and visitors.
You will provide safety support to social workers and officers during non‑violent crisis responses, transport people in crisis, provide safety escorts, assist with campus policy enforcement, monitor security cameras, and assist dispatch with non‑emergency calls.
Other duties as assigned.
You will assist in emergencies, participate in evacuations, and perform administrative and loss‑prevention related functions at facilities such as the bookstore and library.
Essential QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and a California Driver’s License.
Background check, physical exam, and Live scan clearance.
Knowledge and ability to use public safety equipment and systems.
Ability to detect and respond to hazards and non‑violent crisis situations.
Strong communication, de‑escalation, observation, and incident‑report writing skills.
Physical ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods.
CPR and first aid certification or ability to obtain certification.
