Software Engineer II - RDPL - Onsite; CA

Raytheon’s Radar Digital Product Line (RDPL) team in Fullerton is looking for a Software Engineer II to work onsite. The role focuses on designing, developing, and troubleshooting tactical radar software in a Dev Sec Ops  environment.

• Collaborate with Scrum teams to design, develop, and troubleshoot real‑time tactical radar software.
• Design, code, and maintain robust C++ software for real‑time applications.
• Execute software integration testing (SWIT) and root‑cause analysis using Jenkins, Linux‑based tools.
• Develop scripts (Python, Bash, or Perl) to automate testing, log analysis, and system integration tasks.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical reviews, actively growing skills in system‑level design.
• Participate in potential travel to support radar site operations.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in C++ and MATLAB.
• Experience developing software for real‑time products such as radars.
• Experience with Linux development environments and Dev Sec Ops  tools (Jenkins, Jira, Git).
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance required before start date.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• At least 2 years of software development experience within the radar domain.
• Experience with Python, Perl, Bash.
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a self‑motivated approach to debugging and fixing complex software issues.
• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system software design.
• Exposure to radar systems, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), or real‑time embedded software.
• Desire to grow into technical leadership or software architecture roles.
