TEACHER (ENGLISH, MATH, & GENERAL) 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR
Salary: $50,088 - $62,184 annually (based on 209 working school days – range based on education/experience).
Essential Functions- Teaches subject matter appropriate to educational background and certification.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates the individual educational plan for each student.
- Plans and outlines class work within prescribed limits; assembles and prepares learning materials for special study.
- Keeps scholastic and attendance records.
- Gives individual instruction and encouragement as needed.
- May operate as part of a teaching team and assist in teacher training of peers, student teachers, and interns.
- Participates in conferences/meetings with parents.
- Confers with building supervisor and/or parents regarding students' needs, progress, and/or abilities.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Considerable knowledge of modern practices, techniques, and methods of teaching, particularly as this applies to the area of education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Ability to use constructive behavior management in a classroom.
- Ability to assess needs of students and develop programs accordingly.
- Ability to work effectively with students.
- Ability to communicate effectively through writing, reading, and/or speech and sign language.
- Ability to make accurate observations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Must meet the required American Sign Language competency level of Advanced.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or Special Education with ASL skills from an accredited college or university.
- Missouri State Teachers’ Certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.

STATE TAX REQUIREMENT
State law now requires all employees to pay their state taxes in a timely manner as a condition of employment. Each year the Department of Revenue will determine if any state employees are delinquent in paying their state taxes for the prior tax year. Employees who are delinquent will be notified and given sufficient time to resolve their state tax liability.
