Fulton State Hospital is seeking a Coordinator of Interpreter Services to lead language access for residents and staff who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have limited English proficiency.

This role ensures every resident can communicate effectively in their treatment, rights, and daily life — work that directly supports dignity, safety, and quality of care.

• Coordinate and schedule interpreter services (on‑site, ASL, video remote, and telephonic) for clinical, legal, and administrative needs across the facility
• Prioritize interpreter coverage for admissions, discharges, treatment team meetings, grievances, and investigations
• Maintain records of resident communication needs, interpreter assignments, and service delivery in audit‑ready formats
• Manage vendor contracts, interpreter credentials and certifications, and rate agreements, track renewals and expirations
• Review and verify interpreter service invoices; resolve billing discrepancies
• Prepare reports on service utilization, unmet needs, and trends for leadership, audits, and compliance reviews
• Develop procedures and training materials to guide staff on requesting and using interpreter services appropriately
• Serve as facility point of contact for language access compliance (ADA, Section 504, Title VI)

• Required to be licensed to interpret in Missouri and hold a certification level consistent with the requirements of the Skill Level Standards (Section 5 CSR 100‑200.170) for interpreting in mental health settings in Missouri.
• Bachelor's degree in interpreting, translation, Deaf studies, social work, psychology, healthcare administration, human services, education, communications, or a closely related field
• Experience coordinating services, scheduling or vendor/contract management
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills

• Experience with interpreter services, language access, or working with Deaf/hard of hearing or limited English Proficiency (LEP) populations
• Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 and Title VI language access requirements
• Experience in a behavioral health, hospital, or state government setting
• Experience coordinating services, scheduling, or vendor contract management
